We cover recent additions to LocalStack that support new service providers such as CodeBuild for running build processes across different runtimes directly on your machine, CodeDeploy for emulating deployment steps without touching the real infrastructure, and CodePipeline for creating and testing CI pipelines, transitions, and triggers locally. Through a live demo, we’ll walk through a working example of a CI/CD pipeline — building a Rust project, deploying it, and running the pipeline stages — all without leaving your laptop. This session is useful for developers building or debugging AWS-native CI/CD workflows and looking for faster, more controlled ways to test them.

Then staging in the real cloud reveals the truth—bugs that only show up with actual RDS parameter settings, real SQS and SNS throughput limits, or Lambda and API Gateway behaviour your local mocks never captured.
The solution is Testcontainers.
Testcontainers is a testing library that provides easy and lightweight APIs for bootstrapping integration tests with real services wrapped in Docker containers. Using Testcontainers, you can write tests talking to the same type of services you use in production without mocks or in-memory services. Spin them up, run migrations, execute your Node.js service against them, assert results, auto-cleanup.
